Janine Gard Antenatal And Postnatal Educator

Meet Janine Gard.

Hello there! I’m Janine Gard, a Diploma Qualified Birth Educator certified in 2005 through Aoraki Polytechnic (now known as Ara Polytechnic). I am the proud Founder and Director of Bellies to Babies Antenatal and Postnatal Classes, where I've had the joy of teaching over 5500 individuals over the span of 19 years.

In addition to my work in education, I'm an artist and have a love for flowers and plants (indoors and out), and most importantly, a Mum to two incredible young adults. My amazing partner and I are currently building our dream home, adding a touch of excitement to our journey!

My passion for what I do stems from a deep love for connecting with people, and supporting and empowering families.

I wake up each day excited to share my knowledge, ease worries, answer questions (even the curly ones!), and most of all, have fun doing it. This passion was ignited during my own eventful labour and birth experience with my daughter, where I felt unheard and overwhelmed but was guided by an amazing LMC. This led me to transition from an 11-year career in floristry to becoming a Birth Educator.

Alongside my Birth Education qualification, I hold certifications as a Safe Sleep Champion, Le Leche League Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, and an Internationally Certified Infant Massage Instructor. I'm also the Founder and Creative Director of Earth Friendly Cocoons, offering handcrafted biodegradable cocoons for the burial of Placentas, Cremated Ashes, and Angel Babies.

My journey includes writing over 100 articles for the NZ Herald and leading Pregnancy and Parenting Magazines, attending workshops, seminars, and staying up-to-date with current practices and trends in prenatal, antenatal, and postnatal care. I believe in continuous learning and development to provide the best support to my clients.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me and my journey. I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Warm regards,

Janine x
